Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is a professional twenty20 cricket team that competes in Indian Premier League every year. It is one of the 8 teams in IPLT20 that was launched in 2008. RCB franchise represents India’s Bengaluru city in the competition. Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise was owned by Dr. Vijay Mallya for a bid price of 111.6 USD million which was the second highest amount after Mumbai Indians 111.9 US$ million.

Currently Siddarth Mallya is the director of RCB. Indian test cricket team skipper Virat Kohli is captaining the RCB side in IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore have got some good performances and results over the years and team succeed to reach final three times in 2009, 2011 and 2016 but RCB is yet to win Indian Premier League trophy.

In 2009, Deccan Chargers defeated them in final whereas in 2011 they lost it Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile Sunrisers Hyderabad beat RCB in 2016 IPL to become winner.

Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified three times for Champions League twenty20. They played 2009, 2010 and 2011 CLT20 but never won it. They were runner-up in 2009 and 2011 Champions League event and were semi-finalists in 2010.

Note: Champions League Twenty20 doesn’t exist anymore after 2014 as tournament was defunct from 2015.

Royal Challengers Bangalore 2020 Squad, Players List

Skipper Virat Kohli set to remain captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore and batting sensation AB De Villiers will be seen playing for RCB during 2020 Indian Premier League season. Royal Challengers began trading and sold wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock to Mumbai Indians.

RCB traded Mandeep Singh with Marcus Stoinis from KXIP ahead of players auction. Bangalore team retained a total of 14 players before heading into Vivo IPL players auction for 13th season.

  2. RCB will and shall change in 2018 IPL.
    They shall not end up in the bottom of
    the points table as they have in IPL
    2017 with only 3 wins. They have Virat
    Kohli Run-Machine, Chris Gayle
    the Six-Machine but still they lost. They
    should have team effort so that they can
    win matches. I hope they win a title by
    2018
