The fifth edition of KFC Big Bash League is scheduled to take place between 17 December and 24 January. Just like previous four seasons, 8 teams are going to take participation in the prestigious Australia’s twenty20 league. Perth Scorchers are the defending champions in BBL|05 as they won fourth Big Bash edition by defeating Sydney Sixers in the final.

The first match of season will be played on 17 December 2015 between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers at Spotless Stadium. Semi-finals are scheduled to be held on 21 and 22 January whereas two teams will fight for the BBL trophy on 24 January 2016.
