Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings was one of the original eight franchises in Indian Premier League since it’s inception in 2008. The franchise was suspended in 2015 to participate in 2016 and 2017 editions of IPL after found guilty in illegal betting and fixing charges. Chennai Super Kings also popular as CSK which was owned by India Cements. M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is the home ground for team.

CSK is the most successful team of tournament till 2015 as they are the only team to enter in knockouts in successive 8 IPL editions. Team succeed to play 6 Indian Premier League finals and won 2 out of them. Chennai Super Kings were champions in 2010 and 2011 seasons while they were runner-up in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015. MS Dhoni led CSK over the 8 years of time span.

The team is expected to make comeback in 2018. But still it hasn’t been defined how it will happen.

Chennai Super Kings participated in Champions League Twenty20 from 2010 to 2014. They won CLT20 championship in 2010 and 2014 under Mahendra Singh Dhoni’c captaincy. They were the most successful team of tournament as became winner twice.

Note: Champions League Twenty20 doesn’t exist anymore after 2014 as tournament was defunct from 2015.
