Indian Premier League governing council is set to launch the two new franchises in prestigious T20 competition to replace Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings for two years. Both these two new teams will be playing IPL-2016 and IPL-2017 which will be sponsored by Vivo. IPL GC will unveil the names of 2 new franchises in the league.
A statement said, “The IPL GC will decide on the two new teams that will play in the IPL for the next two years.”
New teams will be announced on Tuesday 8 December 2015 with press conference heading by BCCI president Mr. Shashank Manohar. In that press conference Board of Cricket Control in India’s secretary Mr. Anurag Thakur will also be present along with IPL Chairman Mr. Rajiv Shukla and owners of the 2 new franchises.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals have been suspended by Lodha committee for two years from participating in IPL over the 2013 spot-fixing case.
