The 5th edition of Pakistan Super League is all set to be played in Pakistan and it’s really a big news for all cricket fans in the country and in prospects of PCB’s profit too. Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi discloses that a single Pakistan Super League match held in the country, generates 170 Million Rupees.
“A single PSL match played in Pakistan generates revenue worth 170 million Rs. Imagine the stream of revenue if the entire tournament is played here,” Javed Afridi said.
Javed Afridi owns Peshawar Zalmi franchise in the competition and his team emerged as the biggest franchise and sports entity in terms of brand value at $40.5 million evaluated by Nielsen in the country. On this occasion, he revealed the big amount a single PSLT20 match produces.
Pakistani fans witnessed watching 8 PSL matches of fourth edition from the National Stadium in Karachi. This revenue disclosure from Afridi gives hint that PCB can generate good money in the upcoming 2020 Pakistan Super League edition which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan and this time all 34 games will be held in the country.
If a single PSLT20 game gives 170M PKR, we can calculate what 34 games would provide to the board. Approximately 6 billion rupees Pakistan Super League’s 2020 edition will generate.
PCB confirms that PSL 2020 will be played in Pakistan and fours cities Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan to host the matches.
