Windies star batting sensation Chris Gayle and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo have signed up for the players draft of South Africa’s new twenty20 tournament Mzansi Super League. Along with these West Indies stars, England captain Eoin Morgan and T20I number 1 bowler Rashid Khan of Afghanistan have enrolled for the MSL T20 players draft.
On Monday, Cricket South Africa revealed the names of six teams for the inaugural edition of Mzansi Super League that is scheduled to play from 16 November to 16 December across six venues in African region.
Rashid Khan was announced the first marquee international player of the league. Eoin Morgan (England), Jason Roy (England), Dawid Malan (England), Chris Gayle (Windies), Dwayne Bravo (Windies) and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) are the international marquee players in the competition.
Kagiso Rabada, AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir, Hashim Amla and JP Duminy were confirmed as the Proteas marquee players. More than 200 international players show interest to be the part of first MSLT20 players draft as per CSA CEO Thabang Moroe.
“We have receiving applications from over 200 top international players who expressed interest in playing in this inaugural tournament and will have their names in the hat ahead of the Player Draft process on Wednesday,” he said while announcing teams and players draft details.
Players draft is scheduled to take place on October 17 at the Monte Casino Ballroom in Fourways, Johannesburg from 10:00 local time.
