Cricket South Africa has revealed names of six franchise based twenty20 teams for the newly launched t20 league Mzansi Super League. Along with team names, CSK announced teams identity, logo and marquee players in local and international categories.

- Jozi Stars
- Paarl Rock
- Cape Town Blitz
- Tshwane Spartans
- Nelson Mandela Giants
“It was a thorough and well audited process that led to the six winning bids from our Members as well as the collective contribution from all stakeholders involved that led to the final names and logos which we also had to make sure met our objectives for this event,” CSA Chief Moroe said.
JP Duminy (Cape Town Blitz), Hashim Amla (Durban Heat), Kagiso Rabada (Jozi Stars), Imran Tahir (Nelson Mandela Bay Giants), Faf du Plessis (Paarl Rocks) and AB de Villiers (Tshwane Spartans) are the Proteas marquee players for respective teams.
More than 200 overseas players have enrolled themselves for players draft in the inaugural edition of MSL. Players draft is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 17th October. Monte Casino Ballroom in Fourways, Johannesburg will the place to witness first ever players draft for Mzansi Super League.
These six teams will play a total of 32 matches through out the competition’s first edition. MSL’s inaugural edition is scheduled to play between 16 November and 16 December in 2018.
