Netherlands cricket board have released the list of 15-member squad for ICC Twent20 world cup 2016 schedules to play in India between 8 March and 3 April. All-rounder Logan van Beek is returning to the Holland team after two years as he previously was seen playing international cricket in 2014 t20 world cup. Peter Borren to captain Dutch team in sixth edition of championship.
Dutch coach Anton Roux said, “After a very successful tour of the UAE, I am happy to announce an exciting group of Dutch cricketers that will represent The Netherlands in India at the WT20. This group has shown an immense amount of commitment to what we are trying to achieve on the field of play, and to continue playing our brand of cricket.”
On Van Beek’s inclusion in the side coach has said that he will provide flexibility in the side with his batting capabilities and bowling skills in the middle overs.
“After a great season with Canterbury, the addition of Logan van Beek can only mean added value to the squad and we look forward to having him back. Being able to showcase our skills on the world stage in a tournament like this is a wonderful opportunity that we are very grateful for, and we intend to add more magical memories for the boys in orange.”
On 25 February 2016, Tom Cooper replaced Sikander Zulfiqar in Dutch team. Netherlands national team selector chairman Mr. Jeroen Smits said, “Tom Cooper was part of the hugely successful 2014 World T20 team that progressed to the Super 10 phase as only Associate Member nation, so the current team will certainly benefit from Cooper’s inclusion and experience.’
