Oman Cricket Team have created history as they have beaten Ireland in their first ever match of an International Cricket Council event. Oman defeated Ireland by 2 wickets in their maiden ICC World Twenty20 match played at Dharamsala. Aamer Ali was awarded man of the match for his match winning 32 runs in just 17 balls.
Winning the toss in this first wt20 2016 game, Ireland chose to bat first and they put quite decent total on the scoreboard. Some steady and useful innings from top order batsmen like Sterling, Porterfield, Wilson helped Irish team to reach at 154 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Oman’s Munis Ansari took 3 wickets in his first ever appearance in ICC Twenty20 world cup.
It was not an easy target against established Ireland side but Oman openers gave fantastic start the side and added 69 runs for the first wicket partnership. Kevin O’Brien made Ireland comeback in the match in 9th over when he dismissed Khawar Ali. After this Oman lost 5 wickets in quick session and they were on 90 in 14 overs.
After this Aamer Ali came to bat and he started to hit the ball all over the park. He made quick firing 32 runs in just 17 balls to take his team to first win. Although he couldn’t hit winning runs but yeah Oman has registered their name in history.
