Australia Cricket Board announced 15-member women’s squad for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 2018 starting from November 9 in West Indies. Opener Nicole Bolton and all-rounder Jess Jonassen are the new addition in Aussie squad. However Jess’ participation is subjected to fitness.
Jess Jonassen wasn’t part of recently concluded series between Australia and New Zealand as she got injured during practice session. Hosts Australia defeated Kiwi women quite easily by 3-0 margin in that series. The squad for wwt20 looks similar that of the New Zealand series.
“There’s only two players that come into the T20 side that didn’t take part in the recent series against New Zealand, which is really pleasing as it means we have a stable playing group who are gelling really well,” selection committee head Shawn Fegler said.
Australia have won three women’s world t20 trophies and were runner-up in the previous edition in India.
Australia Women WT20 Squad
