Cape Town Blitz is a professional twenty20 cricket team that will participate in Mzansi Super League launched by Cricket South Africa in October 2018. Team to represent Cape Town city in the tournament and will be playing home matches at PPC Newlands Stadium.
It is one of the six original franchise teams revealed by CSA when the league was released.
Ashwell Prince was declared head coach of Cape Town Blitz for inaugural Mzansi Super League. JP Duminy was announced Proteas marquee player in the squad but he got injured ahead of players draft which made him ruled out from the first edition of MSL T20. Quinton de Kock replaced Duminy as marquee player.

Cape Town Blitz picked England batsman Dawid Malan as the international marquee player. Farhaan Behardien was appointed skipper of CBT for the inaugural edition of MSL.
