Barbados Tridents have lifted their second Caribbean Premier League trophy as they beat Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL 2019 final played at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad. Tridents previously won CPLT20 league in 2014 and that time they defeated the same team Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final.
Winning the toss, Barbados chose to bat first and they posted 171 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs bowling quota with help of Jonathan Carter’s 50 runs. In the reply. Guyana Amazon Warriors managed to put 144 runs on the board and hence shortened by 28 runs to become champions.
This is the 5th occasion when GAW reached to the CPL final and lost it. This is a remarkable achievement to enter final five times in seven editions but it’s a shame that you failed to lift the cup 5 times.
