Preview

Winning their three successive matches in this edition, Guyana Amazon Warriors are looking ahead to register their fourth win of the tournament against St. Kitts. Eventually this is the second meet between two sides in this year’s Caribbean Premier League as both sides faced off each other in the 2nd game of league in which Warriors beat Patriots easily by 4 wickets in an exciting thriller with one ball left in the match.

Guyana skipper Martin Guptill believes that players are feeling well and enjoying the games which the best thing happening with the side. Players know their potential and playing according to that.

Guptill said, “Just take your time and enjoy the atmosphere out there. It is tough wicket to bat on and to bowl on as well, we are going to have to execute our plans and our skills to the best of our abilities. Most of the guys have played here before, there is only one or two that haven’t played so it is a new thing for them, but I am sure they are going to go great. With the batting we have is explosive all the way down the order. We have just to score one more run than the opposition.”

Coach Harper also agrees with Guptill’s statement and said that team is doing good because of atmosphere in the camp and players are playing as per their potentials.

Harper said, “While we did pretty well in winning our first games I think in each of the areas there are little things that we can do a little better. Good teams actually perform better than the sum of their individual parts and that is what we are trying to achieve. We have some pretty good players but if we work well as a team we can appear to be even better than we look on paper.”

On the other side, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have been struggling a lot in the competition. They have won just 1 game in played 4 matches. Devon Thomas and Evin Lewis are the only batsmen who have taken charge for St. Kitts in the competition. Team will definitely be looking to see their captain Faf du Plessis and two West Indies destructive batsmen Lendl Simmons and Carlos Brathwaite to perform well and win matches for the side.
