ICC Women’s World T20 2018 Schedule announced

The International Cricket Council (ICC) just announced the Women’s World T20 2018 schedule. The world tournament will be held from 9 to 24 November this year in West Indies. It will a very interesting tournament, featuring 10 teams, including the 3-time women world twenty20 champions, Australia.

It is one of the most awaited sports tournament this year, besides the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Other teams include England, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

The qualifying matches will take place in Netherlands earlier next month and the winners will join the tournament in November. Those teams include United Arab Emirates, Uganda, Thailand, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, Netherlands, Ireland, and Bangladesh.

There will be a total of 23 matches in this year’s tournament and they will all be broadcasted on live streaming to raise awareness on women’s cricket. The ICC also decided that they will the Decision Review System (DRS) this system, which they believe will improve the quality of matches by injecting the use of modern technology in world-class tournaments.

In this year’s tournament, the Windies join Group A along with other teams, including Sri Lanka, South Africa, and England. Meanwhile, Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, and India are in Group B.

The tournament will kick off at November 9th, this year at the Guyana National Stadium with New Zealand and India playing the kick-off match. The tournament will continue with the second match with Pakistan and Australia. As for the defending champion, the Windies, they will play in the Qualifier 1.

The Guyana National Stadium will also host some exciting matches, including those present the famous archenemies, India and Pakistan. The match will kick off 2 days later at November 11th, 2018. Two days later, we will witness the great match between 2 close countries: New Zealand and Australia.

This year, the tournament will be hosted on at least 2 stadiums. The Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia, for example, will host group stage matches. The first match will be played between Sri Lanka and England in 10 November 2018.

Another stadium, the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua is chosen to host semifinal match on 22 November 2018. The same place will also host the final match, which is expected to take place at 24 November.

The contestants for this year’s tournament may not change so much from last year, but we do expect some great matches from this world-class tournament.

As the defending champion, the Windies may face some challenges in holding their title. Other countries, such as England and India have been expecting for this tournament for a long time and they won’t easily let their enemies win the title.
