Indian Cricket Team has got fresh start in the twenty20 series on 2016 Australia tour as Men in Blue have defeated home team in the first T20I by 37 runs. On the Adelaide Oval pitch, Virat Kohli scored 90 runs in 55 balls to lead team towards the big total of 188. For his terrific innings Kohli was awarded man of the match.
Visitors were struggling in the ODIs and team lost the One-Day series by 4-1. India wasn’t favorite in the first T20 international but they played really well and outclass Aussies on the Australia Day.
Winning the toss Australia chose to bowl first. Their decision was looking going against them as opener Rohit Sharma provided quick firing start to the team. In the first 4 overs opening pair added 40 runs on the board but unfortunately Rohit was dismissed by Shane Watson in the 5th over. In the same over Watson took Dhawan’s wicket.
India was looking in pressure but Virat Kohli and returning to the Men in Blue squad for T20s Suresh Raina played sensibly and took team towards the end of innings. Virat scored brilliant half-century in 32 balls. After this both batsmen started to exploit Australian bowling lineup and added 100 runs for third wicket partnership in 68 balls.
After completion of 20 overs, India put 188 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of 3 wickets. Virat Kohli remained not out on 90 runs in 55 balls with 2 sixes and 9 fours.
In reply to this whole Australian team got all out in 19.3 overs after scoring 151 runs. Captain Aaron Finch was the highest scorer for home team as he made 44 runs in 33 balls. Australia had great start but they didn’t capitalized on it. Jasprit Bumrah was the most successful bowler for India who took 3 wickets.
The next match of series will be played on 29 January in Melbourne.
