BCCI women’s selection committee has appointed Harmanpreet Kaur as the captain of Indian team for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in West Indies. Left-handed batswomen Smriti Mandhana to serve as deputy of Harmanpreet in the stand-along wt20 championship for women.

Mithali Raj and Jemimah Rodrigues, who performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded t20i series against Sri Lanka, have been included in the 15-member squad. Indian women is scheduled to play against Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Ireland in the Group-B matches of tournament.
