Pakistan Super League gets it’s sixth franchise as Dubai-based enterprise Schon Group bought team Multan for PSLT20 after paying biggest price to seal their name with Pakistan’s flagship twenty20 league. The Schon Group to pay 5.2 Million US Dollar each year for Multan franchise according the signed contract of 8-year deal between two organizations.
PCB wanted 6 teams Pakistan Super League in the second edition of championship in 2017 but managed to play it with 5 teams Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. Hence we will see PSLT20 with 6 teams from 2018 edition of tournament.
As the number of teams increased for the competition, we’ll see no. of matches increased in the tournament. 24 games were played between 5 teams of the league, now we have 34 matches in HBL Pakistan Super League.
