Pakistan Cricket Board has announced 16 member twenty20 squad for the three T20Is series against England in later November 2015. Shahid Afridi will be leading the side. Middle order batsman Umar Akmal was included in the squad after he gets clearance from Hyderabad police.
PCB chief selector Haroon Rasheed said, “Umar had been part of the original squad picked up by the selection committee, but he was subsequently held back on instructions from the Board, as he had been issued with a show-cause notice for bringing the PCB and Pakistan cricket into disrepute. Now that he has been cleared after an inquiry into the Hyderabad incident, he has been included in the squad.”
Imad Wasim was included in the twenty20 team against England but he failed to pass fitness test. Hence selectors picked Bilal Asif as the replacement of Imad.
“Having experience of playing first class cricket for many years, with his form, sound technique and fitness, and also given his fielding credentials, Rafatullah Mohmand has been afforded an opportunity as he was considered to have potential to feature in an international T20 competition as an opener”, he added.
Pakistan and England are scheduled to play three 20-20 matches series in United Arab Emirates. First t20 match will be played on 26 November at Dubai whereas 2nd t20 game will also be played in Dubai International cricket stadium on 27. The final and last twenty20 of series is scheduled to take place on 30 November in Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
