India’s chinaman spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav has credited Indian Premier League and Kolkata Knight Riders for his brilliant performance in the first T20I match against West Indies at Eden Gardens. Kuldeep took 3 wickets for 13 runs in Kolkata twenty20 match to restrict Caribbean team on 109 in 20 overs.
According Kuldeep, playing IPL for KKR has helped him a lot during the first t20 match in Kolkata as it the home venue for KKR in premium t20 league. Left-arm spinner said that he was familiar with pitch and ground conditions of Eden Gardens which allowed him to restrict batsmen from scoring runs and getting them out.
“It plays a part. It’s been five years with KKR. I have played all the IPL games there. It gives you massive advantage. It gives confidence as well. I know ground and wicket as well. I know the ground well, the pitch here does not offer much turn. I know the speed of the outfield and every angle. So it helps a lot and gives me immense confidence,” Kuldeep told reporters after the match.
India beat Windies in the first t20 match by 5 wickets with 13 balls to spare in the game. West Indies made 109 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
