BCCI secretary Mr. Anurag Thakur has said that BCCI is looking to host a successful ICC Twenty20 world cup next year. After the completion of BCCI’s 86th Annual General Meeting , Anurag said that BCCI and ICC have no such issues regarding sixth edition of world t20.
Mr. Anurag said, “There is no such difference between the BCCI and the ICC. We have to work very closely because the BCCI has entered into a host agreement with the ICC to host the ICC T20 World Cup. So, whatever decision is taken by the ICC it has to be implemented on ground with the BCCI as host country. So there is no such difference. We are just looking forward to a successful T20 World Cup.”
On the questions of fixtures, Mr. Thakur said that world t20 fixtures would be announced soon and 8 venues would be ready to host the competition.
“In the Barbados meeting of ICC it was decided to have eight centres. So the fixtures would be ready and announced by the ICC soon. The details will be cleared by the ICC and we will be meeting them soon,” he added.
The 6th edition of ICC T20 world cup is scheduled to take place in March-April month in India and 16 nations will be participating in the event including host India.
