Lahore Qalandars are one of the first five franchises in Pakistan Super League. Pakistan’s One-Day international team captain Azhar Ali will be leading Lahore Qalandars in PSLT20 2016. South Africa’s Paddy Upton is the head coach of Lahore Qalandars and Ijaz Ahmed will be assistant coach.

West Indies’ destructive opener Chris Gayle became the first Lahore Qalandars player picked in players draft. Two more West Indies cricketers Dwayne Bravo and Kevon Cooper are selected in the Lahore team for PSL 2016. Umar Akmal was the only Pakistani player picked from Platinum category. Yasir Shah, Shoaib Maqsood and Mohammad Rizawan are the other Pakistan players in the side.

Bangladesh’s rising pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman is also named in the Lahore Qalandars squad for HBL Pakistan Super League 2016. Lahore Qalandars got Abdul Razzaq in the supplementary draft round. Team will play their first match of championship against Karachi Kings on 5th February in Dubai.
