West Indies cricket legend Brian Charles Lara has predicted that Indian Cricket Team will be hot favorite to win t20 world cup next year to be held in India.
Lara said, “I expect them to be favourites in the tournament (Twenty20 World Cup). I know home pressure is always there. I think the guys have grown a lot and I believe they have got a very good chance in the World Cup.”
Lara also believes that India is a dangerous side in the shorter format, especially when they are playing at home. Though they have lost the home t20 series against South Africa but still they will be favorite to clinch the title.
“I think the Indian team playing at home is very dangerous team. And they proved that during (by winning) the World Cup in 2011 in India under (Mahendra Singh) Dhoni. They have got very exciting players and versatile,” he added.
The 2016 t20 championship will be the sixth edition of ICC World Twenty20 which schedules to play from 11th of March to 3rd of April. India clinched the inaugural edition of t20 world cup and were runner-up in 2014 edition at Bangladesh.
