English cricketer Stuart Broad has signed up with Australian T20 league Big Bash League franchise Hobart Hurricanes for the sixth edition of championship beginning from 20th December. Fast bowler could play all matches in the season for Hurricanes as he’ll be free from national duties just before three days of first BBL|06 game of Hobart team on 23 December.
Broad said, “It has been really good to have Hurricanes team-mate Dan Christian playing with me at Notts who has been really positive about the Hobart Hurricanes and also the city of Hobart which I’m looking forward to embracing.”
Pace bowler was dropped from ODI squad against Sri Lanka this summer and since then he is keen to return to the side. As per latest ICC test rankings he is currently 4th rank bowler in the world and he’ll be looking to perform well in the upcoming series to make comeback in the One-Day side.
“I’m going to look at scheduling, whether it’s home or abroad, to try to play some white-ball cricket and there might be a decent opportunity after Christmas this year because there’s not a lot of Test cricket then until I think July. The only way I’ll get back is by playing white-ball cricket and that’s the only way my skills will improve, too.” – Broad quoted.
