The fifth edition of ICC Women’s World Twenty20 is scheduled to be hosted in India from 15 March to 3 April 2016. The event will also be known as ICC Women’s World T20 2016 and Women’s Twenty20 World Cup 2016. 8 major Indian cities will host the tournament featuring 10 national women cricket teams. Australia women’s team is the three-time title defending champion in wwt20 2016.

Venues

Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) revealed list of 8 cities which will host the prestigious ICC women’s t20 world cup 2016. New Delhi, Mohali, Dharamsala, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Nagpur and Chennai will host a total of 22 matches of the competition.

Top 8 teams from 2014 world twenty20 event, directly qualified for the main event. Rest two teams made their way to 2016 ICC women’s world t20 by playing final of 2015 world twenty20 qualifier.
