1st match (Durban, 2007)
The first ever meet between India and Pakistan took place in the inaugural ICC World T20 event in South Africa. It was Group-D match on 14 September, 2007 at Kingsmead in Durban. Men in Green won toss and chose to field. Indian team setup a total of 141 runs in 20 overs play with the help of fifty from Robin Uthappa and 33 runs from skipper MS Dhoni. Mohammad Asif took 4 wickets in Indian innings.
In the chase of 141, Pakistan team managed to score the level with Misbah-ul-haq’s half century. Hence the match results to tie but as per rules, in a tied T20I match bowl out was needed to decide the winner. In the bowlout, India beat Pakistan by 3-0. Mohammad Asif was awarded man of the match.
2nd match (Johannesburg, 2007)
It was a dream final of 2007 ICC World Twenty20 for cricket lovers and fans as arch rivals India and Pakistan were up against each other. New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg hosted the final in which India bat first after winning the toss. Indian opener Gautam Gambhir scored 75 and Rohit Sharma made 30 runs in 16 balls at the end of innings that helped Men in Blue posted 157 runs in 20 overs. Umar Gul took 3 wickets for Pakistan.
In the chase of 158 runs target, Pakistan shortened the target despite heroics from Misbah-Ul-Haq towards the end of innings. Misbah made 43 runs whereas opener Imran Nazir contributed 33 runs in Pak’s score of 152. India won the inaugural wt20 title by 5 runs. Irfan Pathan was named player of the match.

3rd match (Colombo, 2012)
The third ICC World Twenty20 match between Pakistan and India was held on 30 September 2012 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Winning the toss, Men in Green chose to bat and managed to score just 128 runs before getting all out in 19.4 overs. Shoaib Malik made 28 runs while Umar Akmal contributed 21 runs in Pak innings. Laxmipathy Balaji took 3 wickets for India.
Men in Blue chased down this 128 runs target in just 17 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 78 runs to help India won the match easily. Kohli was awarded for his match winning inning and 1 wicket. India won this Group-2 match by 8 wickets.
4th match (Mirpur, 2014)
Indo-Pak fourth Twenty20 world cup meeting took place on 21 March 2014 at Sher-E-Bangla International Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh. Winning the toss India chose to field and restricted Pakistan to 130 runs total in 20 overs. Umar Akmal was the highest run scorer for Men in Green in this innings and he made 33. Amit Mishra took 2 wickets for India.
Indian team chased the target quite comfortably in 18.3 overs with 7 wickets remaining. Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 36 whereas Suresh Raina made 35 in the run chase. Hence India won by 7 wickets in this Group match of 2014 world t20. Mohammad Shami was awarded player of the match.
5th match (Kolkata, 2016)
The 5th meeting between India and Pakistan took place on 19th March at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won toss and chose to bowl in a 18-over per side match. Pakistan managed to put 118 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. Shoaib Malik made 26 runs whereas Ahmed Shehzad played 25 runs inning.
In the chase of 119 runs, India registered 6 wickets victory over Pakistan in 15.5 overs. Virat Kohli made unbeaten 55 runs in 37 balls to guide Men in Blue towards big win. He was named man of the match for match winning knock.
