Bangladesh Cricket Board have announced the preliminary squad for the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 2016. The 27-member roster consists uncapped player Abu Hider who performed very well in recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League. He finished the 2015 BPL edition as the leading wicket taker by any Bangladeshi bowler in the tournament.
Hider took 21 wickets in played 12 games at Bangladesh Premier League. Apart from Abu Hider there are three more cricketers get maiden call from the national selectors. Wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan, Batsman Mosaddek Hossain and spinner Saqlain Sajib are named in the Bangladesh’s prelim squad for world t20 and asia cup. Selected 27 players will attend the training camp which is starting from 3rd of January.
Star bowler Rubel Hossain is not included in the preliminary squad as he has been suffering calf injury and will take time to get recovered. BCB is planning to have a T20I series against Zimbabwe before the start of Asia cup which will be hosted in Bangladesh from 24 February to 6 March 2016.
