The 2016-17 Big Bash League will be the sixth edition of Australian T20 domestic league KFC Big Bash League. Sydney Thunder are the title defending champions in BBL-06 season. The championship is set to be played between 20 December and 28 January. A total of 35 matches will be played between 8 teams with opening match will take place at Spotless Stadium where title defenders Thunders to meet Sydney Sixers.

8 venues across Australia will be hosting 6th season of KFC Big Bash League from 20 December to 28 January. Semi-Finals and Final match venues haven’t been confirmed yet.

The fixtures and matches schedule for BBL|06 were announced on 7th June 2016. Tournament is set to kick off with derby match between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers on 20 December at Spotless Stadium.
